New Windows For An Old house
Getting to the point of interior trim for these windows is quite a story!
Seen here before final painting are two of the 13 windows replaced on this 1700s house.
The story of how modern windows were fitted to this 1700s timber-frame home is told in this video.
This 1700s timber frame home desperately needed new windows, but the surprises underneath the siding and old trim were many. Rot, missing and damaged framing, bees, and other shocks awaited. The video tells the whole story, but in the end I was able to retrofit modern Anderson windows into an old house and finally seal up the drafts. New framing, wall repairs, siding replacement, new interior and exterior trim, and the removal of a multi-layer bees nest was all part of the fun.
