Exterior Porch Trim

This porch had seen better days. Extensive rot due to poor design had infiltrated the wall cavity.

After the rot was removed and new framing members installed, custom panels made from rot-free PVC were installed.

The panels are trimed with PVC moldings as well. The original lattice at the base remained.

This porch exterior showed a few signs of trouble on the outside, but when I opened things up I found extensive rot and damage. The original trim design contributed to the rot by allowing water to enter the wall cavity. After reparing the rotted framing I installed custom panels and trim made of PVC, which does not rot. Flashing behind the trim will ensure protection for the future.
