The original bath was dated, damaged and the large Jacuzzi was
never a feature used very often. I find this is often the case
The Jacuzzi was removed and replaced with a smaller soaking tub
which leaves the room feeling much more open. Mirrors would be
added later above the vanity.
The soaking tub is surrounded by tile on the wall to match the
The shower features a running bond "subway" style tile
pattern, with a vertical mosaic and a niche built into the wall in
the rear. This picture was taken before the installation of
glass shower doors.
The floor tile is a large 12x24 size again installed in a
staggered pattern across the floor area. A marble topped
double sink vanity leaves plenty of room to spread out.
Plenty of light comes in from the existing skylight and
A separate private area was maintained for the toilet.
This master bath was an effort to modernize and refresh a tired
old design. There was a lot of work to remove an old Jacuzzi
tub and install extensive tile, along with the other changes, but
the result was a wonderful new space.
